Thomas J. Campbell, P.E., is a founding partner of CPE and a Professional Engineer in Florida, North Carolina, Louisiana and Alabama. Mr. Campbell is one of the fathers of modern coastal engineering in the United States. He has directed coastal engineering analysis, design, geotechnical surveys, numerical modeling and construction supervision for coastal restoration projects for over 40 years and has unmatched practical experience in coastal engineering projects on the east and Gulf coasts of the U.S. Mr. Campbell was a Member on the Marine Board Committee on Beach Nourishment of the National Research Council (1993-1995) where he co-authored the widely cited National Research Council book on Beach Nourishment and Protection. In 2011, Mr. Campbell received the Morrough P. O’Brien Award, the highest award of the American Shore & Beach Preservation Association given to individuals with an outstanding record in achieving the objectives and ideals of ASBPA for protecting the U.S. coast. Mr. Campbell received many other prestigious coastal awards during his career, published dozes of scientific papers and directed more than 100 coastal restoration & coastal structures projects.
